The Past Clime data proves the continental drift theory to be correct. This is proven as the Tropical rainforests of South America and Africa both have Glacial striations (scratches on the bed rock). Glaciers can only occur in very cool environments. So how could there be glaciers in these 2 rainforest. This suggest that these continents were not always in their warm equatorial regions like they are present now. Wegener believes that they were once near the south pole where it was once cold enough for the glaciers to be created.
